During the carnival holidays from 14 to 22 February 2026, we welcome you to the ARENA hall of Hotel Acropolis in Middelkerke for a unique family experience full of creativity and wonder.

What can you expect?
Inspired by our own childhood memories, we want to encourage children to (re)discover their creativity and build imaginative worlds, far away from screens. At the same time, we aim to create a warm community where Playmobil enthusiasts of all ages can meet and inspire one another.
Admire beautiful dioramas created by builders from all over Europe.
Discover new building techniques, find Playmobil treasures or spare parts from specialist vendors, unleash your creativity during workshops, or give young master builders the space to play. There is something for everyone! Perfectly combined with a day out in Middelkerke.
In the immediate surroundings of Hotel Acropolis, there are plenty of options for fun family activities, including climbing, swimming, go-karting, laser shooting, bowling and mini golf.
Away from Screens
In a time when children easily seek entertainment on small screens, the Playmobil hobby club Connect to Smile, Hotel Acropolis, and the tourism department ignite children's creativity and imagination with Playmobil by the Sea. For a week, Hotel Acropolis opens its doors for a versatile and accessible Playmobil event.
What Can You Expect?
Playmobil by the Sea offers 1,000 m² of exhibition space filled with Playmobil dioramas, a diorama treasure hunt, a play zone with various Playmobil themes, workshops, and stalls where you can find missing Playmobil pieces. Visitors can also enjoy delicious snacks and drinks.
Tourism in the Off-Season
Middelkerke is the perfect destination for a short family trip within the country. Many families with young children still prefer a coastal vacation, and this event fits perfectly with that preference. Playmobil by the Sea also seamlessly connects with Hupsakee Krokus, a colorful collection of activities, games, and events for children, centered around Ellis, a hardworking little squirrel who guides children through adventures.
From February, the Hupsakee booklet will be available at information points and various local distribution locations.
